(via los angeles times) complementary toasted peruvian corn
(via kevineats) marinated yellowtail… ours was served sans pomegranates
(via yelp) black and blueberry cobbler
Last night I had one of the best meals I have had in a long time, which is exactly why I have decided to make the Lazy Ox Canteen my first review of a Los Angeles restaurant on the blog! Dining downtown is something I rarely do when I head west for a visit, but that certainly will no longer be the case. Highlights of the meal included marinated yellowtail perfectly seasoned over avocado with a dollop of creme fraiche and hash browns, fried artichoke with a honey dipping sauce, caramelized cauliflower and sauteed squid with cabbage and lentils. Thank goodness we decided to continue the delicious experience with the blueberry and blackberry crumble served with vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. Seriously, it was nothing short of extraordinary. If you are in the LA area this restaurant is a must! A true celebration of culinary awesomeness and marvelous ingredients. Cheers!
